How is my history loaded?
How Fabrik Analytics loads 12 months of history for each platform, newest first, how long it takes, how to stop it and what a partial run means.

When you connect Shopify, Meta, Google Ads or Klaviyo, Fabrik Analytics loads the last 12 months for that platform. Because a year of data is too much to fetch in one go, it is loaded in small slices of days, one after another, starting with the most recent. This is called the history load (shown as a backfill in some places).
Before you start
- For a new brand, history starts when you press Start at the end of the setup wizard, for every platform connected by then. Until then Home shows "Starts when setup is finished".
- A platform you connect after setup starts its 12 months at the next scheduled sync, within the hour ("Starts at the next sync, within the hour" on Home).
- New Shopify orders arrive from the moment the app is installed, whatever the history load is doing.
- Starting a history load by hand, and the Sync all buttons, are for agency staff.
How it works
- Newest first. The most recent days arrive first, then older weeks and months.
- One platform at a time per brand. The order is Google Ads, then Meta, then Klaviyo, then Shopify, because the quicker platforms can be ready while Shopify fills in.
- Slice by slice. Each slice covers a number of days, narrower for large accounts. If a slice fails, it is retried up to three times.
- Recent data keeps flowing. Normal syncs carry on while history loads, so today's figures stay current.
How long it takes depends on the size of the account. Recent weeks fill in within minutes. Ads and email take minutes; Meta and Shopify can take a few hours on a large account. On Home, Loading your last 12 months shows each platform's progress and how far back it has reached.
What you will see
- A message such as "12 month backfill queued: Google then Meta then Klaviyo then Shopify. The newest days land first."
- Under the platform's row on Settings, Integrations, a progress bar with what it is fetching, a percentage and the time elapsed.
- In Sync history, runs for the load and its slices, each with a status: Running, Completed, Partial, Failed or Stopped. A run that has shown Running for more than 10 minutes is marked Stuck.
Run the 12 month load again (agency staff)
- Open the brand, then Settings, Integrations.
- For every platform, click Full sync, 12 months in the header. For one platform, click the arrow beside its Sync button and choose 12m.
- If a load is already running you see "A historical sync is already running for this brand". Wait for it to finish.
Any range longer than 30 days is loaded the same way, slice by slice.
Stop a load
- While a load runs, click Stop beside its progress bar.
- Confirm with Stop sync.
Everything already saved stays. The slice in progress stops, and platforms queued after it will not start. Days it had not reached stay empty until you run the load again. Stop is shown to agency staff and to brand users whose role allows managing syncs.
Troubleshooting
- Partial: some slices failed three times. Run the 12 month load again to fill the gaps.
- Nothing moving for a long time: check Sync history for an error, then see "Check integration health and reconnect".
