Connect Klaviyo

Connect Klaviyo to Fabrik Analytics in a few clicks, what it reads, and why older connections are asked to reconnect for lists and segments.

3 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

Connecting Klaviyo puts your email results beside your sales and ad spend: every campaign as it was sent, with recipients, opens, clicks and revenue, flows by day and by message, and the lists and segments each campaign went to. It feeds the Email & CRM pages.

For the full guide, including installing from Klaviyo's marketplace, exactly what is read and why, and how long data is kept, see the Klaviyo integration guide.

Before you start

  • Connect the brand's Shopify store first.
  • You need a Klaviyo login allowed to add apps to the account.
  • Who can do it: agency staff, and a client owner. Other client roles need the Manage integrations permission.

Step by step

  1. Open the brand, then Settings, Integrations.
  2. Under Marketing and ads, click the Klaviyo row to open it.
  3. Click Connect Klaviyo.
  4. Klaviyo opens. Sign in if asked, choose the Klaviyo account, and approve the permissions.
  5. You return to Integrations. The row shows Connected and the account name.

What you will see

  • The first figures within minutes, then older months over the following hours, newest first.
  • After that, Klaviyo syncs several times a day, and once a day it reads the last 7 days again so conversions Klaviyo attributes late are counted.
  • Sync on the row runs a sync now. The arrow beside it, where it shows, lets you choose a timeframe.

Older connections: reconnect for lists and segments

Connections made before 3 October 2026 were approved without permission to read lists and segments. On those brands the Klaviyo row, and the Email & CRM pages, show Reconnect Klaviyo to grant new permissions, listing what the new permissions are for. Until you reconnect, audiences are shown by their Klaviyo id rather than their name.

  1. Click Reconnect Klaviyo in the notice (or on the row).
  2. Approve the permissions in Klaviyo.

Nothing is lost while you wait, and reconnecting does not reload your history.

Switch on UTMs in Klaviyo

So email visits and orders are credited to Email, switch on UTM tracking in your Klaviyo account so links in your emails carry UTM tags. Settings, Tracking in Fabrik Analytics shows whether Klaviyo clicks are arriving with them.

Troubleshooting

  • "Fabrik Analytics connects Klaviyo for Shopify stores. Install Fabrik Analytics on this brand's Shopify store first, then connect Klaviyo." Connect Shopify, then try again.
  • "You don't have permission to manage this brand's integrations": ask a client owner or your agency.
  • "Klaviyo was disconnected from your Klaviyo account": the app was removed in Klaviyo or its access ran out. See "Why does Klaviyo say reconnect?"

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Shopify connected before Klaviyo?

Yes. Fabrik Analytics connects Klaviyo for Shopify stores only. Without a connected store you see a message asking you to install Fabrik Analytics on the brand's Shopify store first.

Does Fabrik Analytics write anything to Klaviyo?

No. Access is read-only: campaigns, flows, their performance, email content, and the names and sizes of the lists and segments campaigns were sent to. Individual subscriber profiles are not read.

Why am I asked to reconnect Klaviyo?

Fabrik Analytics now reads the lists and segments your campaigns went to, and Klaviyo asks the account owner to approve that once. Connections made before 3 October 2026 need to reconnect. Everything else keeps syncing meanwhile.

What happens to my data if I disconnect?

Email figures stop updating and Fabrik Analytics gives up its access at Klaviyo. The Klaviyo data already held is deleted 30 days later, unless you connect Klaviyo again before then.

Is there a cost for the Klaviyo integration?

No. It is part of your Fabrik Analytics plan.
