Why is data missing for recent days?

What to check when yesterday or today looks empty or low, or a sync has failed: how often each platform syncs, late updates, paused connections and errors.

If today or the last few days look empty, low or out of date, the cause is usually one of a handful of things. Work through them in order.

Before you start

  • Open the brand, then Settings, Integrations. You need the Manage integrations permission to sync or reconnect; agency staff and client owners have it.
  • If your plan includes Intelligence, Intelligence, Data trust shows a Sync health table that answers most of this at a glance.

Step 1: is today simply not finished?

Today's figures fill in as the day goes on, in your Shopify store's time zone. Ad platforms also report today's spend with a delay. A low "today" in the morning is normal.

Step 2: has the platform synced recently?

  1. On Settings, Integrations, look at the last sync time on each row.
  2. On Data trust, check Sync health. Late means no completed sync for more than 26 hours.

Normal timings:

PlatformHow oftenRe-read each day
ShopifyOrders as they happen, plus a regular checkDays with refunds or changes
MetaAbout every hourLast 7 days
Google AdsAbout every hourLast 14 days
KlaviyoAbout every 90 minutesLast 7 days

Step 3: is there an error or warning?

  • A red line under a row shows the last sync's error.
  • Sync history at the foot of the page lists recent runs. Look for Failed, Error, Partial or Stuck, and read the Error column.
  • A paused banner ("Google sync is paused") means access was lost. Retrying will not help: click the reconnect button. Reconnecting fills in everything missed since then, automatically.
  • "Meta needs the brand's own connection" or the Google equivalent means the brand must connect its own account. See "Why does Meta or Google need its own connection?"

Step 4: run a sync

  1. Click Sync on the platform's row.
  2. To reach further back, click the arrow beside Sync, where it shows, and choose 7d, 30d or another range.
  3. If you see that a sync is "already in progress", wait a few minutes. If the progress bar has not moved for a long time, choose Force restart in that message.

Step 5: is history still loading?

After connecting a platform, the 12 month history loads newest first. Normal syncs run alongside it, so recent days should still be current. See "How is my history loaded?"

What you will see when it is fixed

The row's last sync time updates, the red error line disappears, Sync health reads Syncing, and the missing days appear on your dashboard.

Common error messages

  • "Sync failed" with a message from the platform: often a temporary refusal or rate limit. The next scheduled sync usually succeeds.
  • "Retrying will not help until you reconnect." The connection must be renewed. Click the reconnect button in the banner.
  • "Nothing to sync: no enabled platforms on this brand." No platform is connected and switched on.

If days are still missing after a successful sync, email support@fabrik.ae with the brand, platform and dates.

Frequently asked questions

How often does each platform sync?

Shopify orders arrive within moments through Shopify's order notifications, with a regular check to catch anything missed. Meta and Google Ads sync about every hour, Klaviyo about every 90 minutes. Each day the last few days are read again so late changes are counted.

Why did yesterday's ad spend change today?

Meta and Google keep updating recent days as conversions are attributed and spend is finalised. Fabrik Analytics reads the last 7 days of Meta and Klaviyo, and the last 14 days of Google, again every day.

A sync shows Failed. Is my data lost?

No. Data already imported stays. The next successful sync fills in what was missed. If the connection is paused, reconnect it first.

Can I run a sync myself?

Yes, if you can manage the brand's integrations. Click Sync on the platform's row in Settings, Integrations. Where an arrow shows beside it, it lets you choose how far back.

My brand recently left its agency and Meta stopped. Why?

If Meta or Google synced on the agency's connection, it was switched off when the brand left. Connect the brand's own account on the Integrations page to carry on.
