Why does Klaviyo say reconnect?

The three Klaviyo notices, what each one means for your data, and how to reconnect before your stored Klaviyo data is due to be deleted.

3 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

Fabrik Analytics shows a Klaviyo notice on Settings, Integrations and on the Email & CRM pages when the Klaviyo connection needs you. There are three kinds.

Before you start

  • Who can reconnect: agency staff, a client owner, or a role with Manage integrations.
  • You need a Klaviyo login allowed to add apps to the account.
  • Shopify must still be connected. Fabrik Analytics connects Klaviyo for Shopify stores only.

The three notices

Reconnect Klaviyo to grant new permissions

Fabrik Analytics now reads the lists and segments your campaigns were sent to, and Klaviyo asks the account owner to approve this once. Connections made before 3 October 2026 see this. The notice lists what the new permissions are for. Everything else keeps syncing in the meantime, and audiences show by their Klaviyo id until you reconnect.

Klaviyo was disconnected from your Klaviyo account

Fabrik Analytics was removed in Klaviyo, or its access ran out, so email figures stopped updating. The notice says the date the Klaviyo data held here will be deleted if Klaviyo is not reconnected.

Klaviyo is disconnected

Someone disconnected Klaviyo in Fabrik Analytics, or it was disconnected at the end of an agency contract. Email figures no longer update, and the notice gives the deletion date. If that date has passed, it says "Its Klaviyo data has been deleted. Connect Klaviyo again to start a fresh sync."

Step by step

  1. Click the button in the notice: Reconnect Klaviyo or Connect Klaviyo. On the Email & CRM pages you can also use Go to Integrations.
  2. Klaviyo opens. Sign in, choose the account and approve the permissions.
  3. You return to Fabrik Analytics, and the notice disappears.

What you will see

  • The Klaviyo row shows Connected with the account name.
  • Missed days fill in at the next syncs. After a fresh start (data already deleted), the 12 month history loads again, newest first.
  • The brand's owners are also told by email and in the bell when Klaviyo is disconnected or uninstalled.

Troubleshooting

  • "Fabrik Analytics connects Klaviyo for Shopify stores. Install Fabrik Analytics on this brand's Shopify store first, then connect Klaviyo." Reconnect Shopify first.
  • "Could not start the Klaviyo connection." Try again in a moment.
  • The notice comes back after reconnecting: the approval may have been made with a login that cannot add apps. Ask the Klaviyo account owner to reconnect.

Frequently asked questions

Will reconnecting reload all my Klaviyo history?

No. Reconnecting renews access. Data already held stays, and anything missed while disconnected is filled in.

What happens if I never reconnect?

Email figures stop updating. Klaviyo data held in Fabrik Analytics is deleted 30 days after the disconnection. The notice shows the exact date.

Why does it say the access ran out?

Klaviyo ends an app's access when the app is removed in Klaviyo, or when the connection has not been used for a long time. Reconnecting fixes it.

Who needs to approve the new permissions?

Someone with a Klaviyo login allowed to add apps, usually the account owner. In Fabrik Analytics, a client owner or anyone with Manage integrations can start the reconnect.

Can I keep using Fabrik Analytics while I wait to reconnect?

Yes. For the new permissions notice, everything else keeps syncing. For a disconnection, earlier email figures stay visible but do not update.
