Choose which notifications you receive

Switch emails and in-app notifications on or off in My profile, use the bell, stop an email from its own link, and set your brand's defaults.

4 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

You decide which emails and in-app notifications reach you. Your choices apply everywhere you have access, and anything you have not chosen follows your workspace's defaults.

Before you start

  • Everyone can change their own notifications.
  • Changing a brand's or portfolio's defaults is open to the people who manage that workspace's settings. Others see the defaults read only.

Change your own notifications

  1. Choose your picture in the top right, then Notifications. You can also open it from My profile, Notifications, Manage, or from the bell's Notification settings.
  2. The page is grouped by what each notification is about:
    • About you: your own leave and access.
    • Billing: the plan and payments of the brands or portfolio you manage billing for.
    • Your brand (agency staff see Your clients): reports, alerts and access requests.
    • Agency staff also see a section named after their agency, about its people and clients joining or leaving.
    • Always sent: sign-in and security emails. They cannot be switched off.
  3. Each row has a switch per channel: Email and, where offered, In app. Switch them on or off. Each change saves straight away.
  4. A note under each row says where the setting comes from: Your choice, your workspace's default, or Standard.
  5. To start again, choose Reset to workspace default.

The bell

The bell in the top bar shows a dot and a count of unread notifications.

  1. Choose the bell to open Notifications.
  2. Choose an item to open the page it is about. It is marked as read.
  3. Choose Mark all as read to clear the count.
  4. When there is nothing new you see Nothing new, with Choose what appears here.

Agency staff also see a link to Needs you on their Home, which lists everything waiting on them.

Stop an email from the email itself

Optional emails have a Stop these emails link at the foot.

  1. Choose the link. A page asks before changing anything: Stop the email's name emails?
  2. Choose Stop that email, or Stop every optional email of that kind.
  3. You see Done, you will not receive these emails. Choose Undo if you changed your mind.

Emails about your account and failed payments still reach you. From that page, Manage all notifications opens your full settings.

Set your brand's defaults

  1. Open your brand and go to Settings, Notifications. For a portfolio, open its Settings, Notifications.
  2. Switch each notification on or off by default. Each change shows a message such as "on by default".
  3. Choose Reset to standard defaults to go back to how Fabrik Analytics ships.

Defaults apply to anyone who has not chosen for themselves. If an agency or portfolio pays for your plan, plan and payment emails go to them, and the page says so.

Troubleshooting

"That did not save": try again. If it keeps failing, reload the page.

"This link does not work": the link may have been copied incompletely. Use the link in the email again, or reply to the email and we will turn it off for you.

"This email cannot be turned off: it is about your account or your billing.": these emails always go to keep your account safe and your plan running.

I still get an email I turned off: check you switched off the email channel, not only In app, and that you are signed in with the address that receives it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn off every email?

You can turn off every optional email. Sign-in and security emails, such as password resets and two-factor changes, always go. People who manage billing also always get emails about failed payments, final notices, the trial ending and plan changes.

What appears in the bell?

Leave and access requests to decide, access granted to you, reports sent to you, Klaviyo disconnecting, failed payments, final notices, cards expiring and trials ending. Each has its own In app switch in your settings.

I clicked Stop these emails in an email by mistake.

Choose Undo on the page that opened, or switch the email back on in My profile, Notifications.

My settings say Workspace default. What does that mean?

You have not chosen for that email yourself, so it follows the default set for your brand, portfolio or agency. Switching it sets your own choice, which then wins.

Where do I change which Slack channel gets alerts?

Slack is not set per person. The Slack column shows where each notification posts today and links to where that is set, for example Settings, Integrations for your brand's channel.

Does Reset to workspace default undo an unsubscribe link?

Yes. It removes every choice you made, including anything an unsubscribe link saved, and you follow your workspace's defaults again.
