Set up two-factor sign-in

Add an authenticator app so signing in needs a 6-digit code as well as your password, and what to do if you lose your phone.

3 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

Two-factor sign-in adds a second step after your password: a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. A stolen password alone then cannot open your account.

Before you start

  • Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.
  • Anyone can set it up for their own login. For agency staff it is required: you are asked after you sign in, and can choose Remind me later until the date shown. After that date the set-up screen cannot be skipped.

Step by step

  1. Choose your picture in the top right, then Two-factor sign-in.
  2. The page shows Two-factor sign-in is off. Choose Set up two-factor sign-in (or Set up).
  3. In your authenticator app, add an account and scan the QR code. If you cannot scan it, choose Cannot scan it? Show the key to type in, then Copy the key into your app as a time-based key.
  4. Type the 6-digit code your app now shows for Fabrik Analytics.
  5. Choose Verify and turn on.

What you will see

  • Two-factor sign-in is on: "From your next sign-in we ask for a code from this app after your password. Any other device signed in to your account has been signed out."
  • Your apps are listed with the date each was added and an On label.
  • Next time you sign in you see Enter your sign-in code. Type the 6-digit code and choose Continue. If you have more than one app, pick it under Authenticator app first.
  • We email you whenever an authenticator app is added to or removed from your account.

Add a backup app

  1. On Two-factor sign-in, choose Add another app.
  2. Repeat the steps above on the second phone or password manager.

Remove an app

  1. Choose Remove beside the app.
  2. In Remove this authenticator app?, enter the current code from that app to confirm it is you, and choose Remove.

If it is your only app, sign-in goes back to your password alone. Agency staff are asked to set up a new one straight away.

Troubleshooting

"Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.": the box was empty or not six digits.

The code is refused: codes change every 30 seconds. Use the newest code, and check your phone's clock is set automatically.

"Two-factor sign-in could not be started": choose Try again. If it keeps failing, reload the page.

Lost every app: email support@fabrik.ae from the address you sign in with. We check it is you, then remove the old app so you can set up a new one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use two-factor sign-in?

Agency staff do. They have 14 days from the start of the rule, or from when their account was made, to set it up, and after that the app cannot be used without it. For brand users it is optional but recommended.

Which authenticator apps work?

Any app that makes time-based 6-digit codes, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.

Can I add a backup?

Yes. Choose Add another app and set up a second phone or a password manager. Any of your apps can then give the code.

I lost my phone and cannot sign in.

Email support@fabrik.ae from the address you sign in with. We check it is you, then remove the old app so you can set up a new one.

Does it work if I sign in with Google?

Yes. After Google, Fabrik Analytics asks for the code from your authenticator app as well.

Why was I signed out on my other devices?

Turning two-factor sign-in on signs out any other device signed in to your account, so every session from then on has passed the code.

Why does opening a customer or order ask me to set up two-factor?

Customer and order records hold shoppers' names and emails, so agency staff can open them, and export the customer and order lists, only after two-factor sign-in.
