Why was my report not sent?

The reasons a report or edition did not reach anyone: delivery off, not published, recipients who opted out, Slack not set, or the plan or brand status.

3 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

In Fabrik Analytics, "sent" means received. If nobody received a report, it is not marked as sent, and the Delivery window says what happened instead. This article walks through every reason a report or a series edition may not have gone out.

Before you start

You need permission to edit reports to open Delivery and change it. Anyone who can open the report sees the last attempt.

Step by step: find the reason

  1. Open the brand, choose Reports and open the report in the editor.
  2. Select Delivery in the toolbar.
  3. For a series edition, check both Every edition and This report only. A report with its own delivery ignores the series'.
  4. Read the foot of the window: Last sent or Not sent yet, and the latest attempt.
  5. Work through the checks below.

What the latest attempt can say

  • sending: it is in progress.
  • 3 emails sent, posted to Slack: delivered.
  • 1 not sent (turned off or blocked): that person opted out, unsubscribed, or their address refused mail.
  • 1 failed: the email could not be delivered. Check the address, then select Send now.
  • Slack post failed: check the brand's Slack channel and the Slack connection.
  • sent without the PDF: the PDF was too big or could not be made, so the link went instead.
  • Nobody to send to: nothing to deliver to.
  • Already being sent: another send of the same report is running. Wait for it to finish.

Retries

A send that did not finish is tried again every hour, up to three attempts, for up to two days. After that, select Send now once the cause is fixed.

Digests

A digest posts on its own day and time. If it did not arrive:

  1. On the Reports page, Digests tab, check its status is Active, not Paused.
  2. Open it and check a channel is chosen under Slack Channel.
  3. For email, check Email delivery is switched on.

Troubleshooting

  • The client cannot find the email. Ask them to check spam and any filtering for emails from Fabrik Analytics, then use Send now again.
  • Everything looks right but nothing arrives. Email support@fabrik.ae with the report's name, the brand and the time it should have gone.

Frequently asked questions

What does Sent mean?

Sent means someone received it. The Last sent time is recorded only after at least one email went out or the Slack post was made, never just because an edition was generated.

Does Fabrik retry a failed send?

Yes. A send that did not complete is tried again every hour, up to three attempts, for up to two days.

A client says they never got it but others did. Why?

They may have switched report emails off in their notification settings or used the link at the foot of an earlier email to stop receiving it. In Delivery their name shows Won't receive, turned off. Their own choice cannot be overridden.

Our agency relationship ended. Will reports still go out?

No. Automatic sends happen only for brands that are being served, through an active agency link, the final month of offboarding, or their own plan.

The email arrived but without the PDF. Why?

The PDF was over 15 MB or could not be made in time, so the email carried the link instead and said why.

Can I see what happened on the last attempt?

Yes. Open Delivery in the report's editor. The foot of the window shows Last sent and the latest attempt, such as 2 emails sent, 1 not sent (turned off or blocked).
