Edit report sections

Choose, reorder and hide a report's sections, write notes and next steps, and set its period, comparison, orientation and display options.

Every report is built from sections: a page for each part of the business, between a fixed opening page and a fixed closing page. You choose which sections appear, their order and how they display, and add your own commentary to each.

Before you start

You need permission to edit reports at the brand. Open the report from Reports with the pencil (Edit) on its row, or it opens automatically when you create it.

The editor

The editor has a toolbar along the top, a settings panel on the left and the live report on the right. Show or hide the settings panel with the settings button in the toolbar (its tooltip reads Show settings or Hide settings). Use the refresh button (Refresh data) to reload the figures.

Step by step: choose and order sections

  1. In the settings panel, find Sections (in order).
  2. Tick a section to include it, untick to remove it. Select All and Unselect All do every section at once.
  3. Drag a ticked section by its handle to change its place in the report.
  4. On the report itself, hover over a section and choose Hide section to remove it from there.

Executive Summary always opens the report and Closing Actions always closes it. Both are marked Locked.

Step by step: set the period and layout

  1. Title: type the report's name.
  2. Reporting Period: choose Last Week, Last Month, Last Quarter, Last Year or Custom and set the dates.
  3. Compare: Prev compares with the period before, YoY with the same period last year. The same switch appears in the toolbar as PoP and YoY.
  4. Orientation: landscape or portrait pages.
  5. Display (shown when relevant sections are included):
    • Creative Layout: Grid or Table, and Number of creatives.
    • Sort Campaigns By: Spend or ROAS.
    • Email Layout: Grid or Table, and Sort Emails By: Revenue, Date or Sends.

Step by step: write notes and next steps

  1. In the report, scroll to the section.
  2. Click Notes (it reads "Click to add context…") and write what happened and why.
  3. Click Next Steps and write one action per line. Lines are numbered for you.
  4. Click away. The text saves on its own.

If you leave Next Steps empty, the report fills it from open Intelligence findings for that area, marked Auto-generated from intelligence · Click to override.

What you will see

  • The status in the toolbar: draft, in review or published.
  • A saving indicator while your changes are stored.
  • In a series, a note under the sections list: Section choices apply to every edition in this series.

Troubleshooting

  • A section is empty. The platform it reads is not connected, or there is no data for the period. Check Settings, Integrations.
  • Figures look out of date. Select Refresh data in the toolbar.
  • A section you expect is not in the list. It is not part of your brand's plan, so it is not offered.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to save my changes?

Changes save automatically a moment after you make them. Save draft saves straight away without publishing.

Why can I not untick Executive Summary or Closing Actions?

They are the report's opening and closing pages and are always included. They are marked Locked in the sections list.

Where did the P&L or Intelligence section go?

Sections your brand's plan does not include are left out. The P&L, targets and Intelligence sections need the Pro plan.

Where do the suggested next steps come from?

If you leave Next Steps empty, the report fills it from the brand's open Intelligence findings for that section, marked Auto-generated from intelligence. Click it to write your own instead.

If I change sections on one edition of a series, do the others change?

In a series, section choices apply to every edition. Notes and next steps you write belong to the edition you write them on.

What is the difference between PoP and YoY?

PoP compares the report's period with the one just before it. YoY compares it with the same period a year earlier.
