Set up a monthly report that sends itself
Start a monthly series from a template, set who receives each edition by email with the PDF or in Slack, then review and publish each month.

A monthly report that sends itself is a series: one set of sections and notes that makes a new edition for every closed month, plus delivery settings that send each edition to the right people. This guide sets one up from start to finish and then walks through each month.
Before you start
- Reports and their delivery are on the Growth plan and above. Some templates need more: a locked template shows a lock and "Not on this brand's plan".
- You need permission to create and edit reports at the brand.
- For Slack, the brand needs a Slack channel set in Settings, Integrations.
Part 1: set it up once
Create the series
- Open the brand and choose Reports, then New report.
- Under Start from a template, choose one:
| Template | Cadence | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly trading | Weekly | Last week's sales, orders, products and paid media |
| Ad creative | Monthly | Paid media and the ads that drove it |
| Monthly strategy | Monthly | Trading, marketing, email, the P&L and Intelligence |
| Email and CRM | Monthly | Campaigns, flows, email creative and customers |
Or choose Strategy report and Monthly (recommended) to pick the sections yourself. 3. The first edition, for the last closed month, opens in the editor.
Make it yours
- In the settings panel, tick or untick sections. Changes here apply to every future edition.
- Under Recurrence, set the Title pattern, and write Default context notes and Default next steps that every edition should start with. A message confirms Series saved.
Set who receives it
- Select Delivery in the toolbar and choose Every edition.
- Under Send, keep When an edition is published (you review first) or choose As soon as an edition is generated.
- Switch on Email, tick the people under People who can see this brand, add any Other addresses, and choose Attach the PDF and/or Include the link.
- Switch on Slack to post a link in the brand's channel as well.
- Select Save, then Send me a test once the edition is published to see exactly what recipients get.
Part 2: every month
- Early on the 1st, the new edition appears on the Reports page as a draft. Anyone who reaches the brand can open it.
- Open it and read each section. Write this month's notes over the defaults: what happened, why, and what comes next.
- Open the Publish menu and choose Publish now. If delivery sends on publishing, the emails and the Slack post go out now.
- Check Delivery: Last sent with a time means at least one email or post went out. Recipients who are signed-in users also see it in the bell.
- To share it anywhere else, use Copy share link from the Publish menu. Anyone with the link can open it without signing in while it is published.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No edition on the 1st | In the series settings, check Series active is on, then choose Generate now. Editions are only made for brands that are being served |
| Not sent yet after publishing | Delivery may be off, or nobody is ticked. Open Delivery and check |
| Sent without the PDF | The PDF could not be made or was over 15 MB. The email carried the link instead |
| A person shows Won't receive: turned off | They switched off report emails in their own notification settings. Their choice wins |
| The link went to the wrong person | Unpublish stops the link working. Publishing again brings the same link back, so email support@fabrik.ae if it must never work again |

A lighter option: the weekly digest
If a team only needs the headline figures each week, a Slack digest (with email for a brand's digest) is quicker than a full report. See Set up a weekly digest.
