Download a report as a PDF
Download a report as a PDF from the editor or from its shared page, how long it takes, and what to do if the PDF is not made.

You can turn any report into a PDF to attach to an email, print or keep on file. There are two ways: from the editor, which uses Fabrik Analytics' own renderer, or from a published report's shared page, which prints from the reader's browser.
Before you start
- To download from the editor you need to be able to open the report there (permission to edit reports).
- To download from the shared page, the report must be published. Anyone with the link can do this.
- Set the Orientation (landscape or portrait) in the editor first if it matters.
Step by step: from the editor
- Open the report in the editor.
- Open the Publish menu (it reads Published once published).
- Choose Download PDF.
- A message says Making the PDF and "This takes up to a minute." The menu item reads Making the PDF… while it works.
- The PDF opens in a new browser tab. Save it from there.
Step by step: from the shared page
- Open the report's shared link (or choose Open public link in the editor).
- Select Download PDF on the shared page.
- Your browser's print window opens. Choose Save as PDF as the destination.
What you will see
- A PDF with the cover, the Executive Summary, each section in the order you set, and Closing Actions, in the orientation you chose.
- The editor's link to the PDF lasts 10 minutes. After that, download again.
- An unchanged report reuses the PDF made in the last day, so a second download is quicker.
Which method to use
| Editor's Download PDF | Shared page's Download PDF | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can use it | People who can edit reports | Anyone with the link |
| Report must be published | No | Yes |
| Made by | Fabrik Analytics' renderer, the same as emailed PDFs | The reader's own browser |
| Best for | Attaching to emails, keeping on file | A quick copy for a client |
Troubleshooting
- "PDF not made" with "Try again in a minute": the renderer was busy or a section took too long to load. Wait a minute and try again.
- The browser blocked the new tab. Allow pop-ups for Fabrik Analytics and select Download PDF again.
- A section is blank in the PDF but fine on screen. Its data was still loading when the PDF was made. Try again; if it repeats, email support@fabrik.ae with the report's name.
- Pages split oddly when printing from the shared page. Use the editor's Download PDF instead, which lays the pages out for you.
