Send a report by email or Slack
Set who receives a report or every edition of a series, by email with the PDF attached or a link, or as a post in the brand's Slack channel.

Delivery decides who receives a report and how: an email with the PDF attached and a link to the web version, a post in the brand's Slack channel, or both. You can set it once for a whole series or separately for one report.
Before you start
- Plan: report delivery is part of reports, on the Growth plan and above. On a plan without it, the Delivery window shows a lock.
- Role: you need permission to edit reports to change delivery. Others can see it read only, with "You can see this delivery but not change it."
- Slack: to post to Slack, the brand needs a Slack channel set in Settings, Integrations.
Step by step: set up delivery
- Open the report in the editor.
- Select Delivery in the toolbar. The window reads Who receives the report, and how.
- For a report in a series, choose Every edition or This report only at the top.
- Under Send, choose when it goes:
- For a series: When an edition is published (the default, so you can review each one first) or As soon as an edition is generated.
- For one report: When it is published or Only when I press Send now.
- Switch on Email, then:
- tick the people under People who can see this brand (each is marked Agency or Client);
- type up to 10 Other addresses, separated by commas;
- choose Attach the PDF and/or Include the link.
- Switch on Slack to post a link in the brand's Slack channel.
- Select Save. A message confirms Delivery saved.
Step by step: send now or send a test
- Publish the report first. Send now stays greyed out until it is published.
- Open Delivery.
- Select Send me a test to receive it yourself only, or Send now to send at once to everyone set up.
- A message says what happened, for example "3 emails sent, posted to Slack".
Step by step: post to Slack once
From the editor's Publish menu, or the Slack icon on the report's row on the Reports page, choose Send to Slack. The report must be published. A message confirms Report sent to Slack.
What you will see
- At the foot of the Delivery window: Last sent with a date and time, or Not sent yet, and the latest attempt with what it did.
- Recipients receive an email from Fabrik Analytics with the PDF and/or link. Replies go to the report's creator when they are agency staff.
- When a report in a series has its own delivery, the window says so and offers Use the series' delivery to go back to the series' setting.
Troubleshooting
- "Nobody to send to": no people are ticked and no other addresses are entered, or Email and Slack are both off.
- "Not sent (turned off or blocked)": some recipients switched these emails off, unsubscribed, or their address refused delivery.
- "Slack post failed" or "No Slack channel is set for this brand. Choose one in Settings, Integrations.": set the channel and try again.
- "Sent without the PDF": the PDF could not be made or was over 15 MB, so the email carried the link only.
- "Up to 10 addresses" shown in red: remove addresses until there are 10 or fewer. Save stays greyed out until then.
- Nothing arrived at all: see the article on why a report was not sent.
