Add or update a card

Add a payment card, replace an expiring one, or change the billing name, email and tax ID on your invoices, all through Stripe's secure page.

Your card and billing details are kept by Stripe, our payment provider. The Billing page shows what is on file and opens Stripe's own secure page whenever you need to add or change something.

Before you start

  • You need to manage billing for the workspace: the Client Owner on a brand, or the owner, a director or the CFO on an agency. On a portfolio, the portfolio's owner.
  • Pop-up blockers can stop the Stripe page from opening in a new tab. If nothing seems to happen, the current tab moves to Stripe instead.

Add a card

  1. Open the menu under your name and choose Billing. In a brand you can also use Settings, then Billing.
  2. Find the Card and billing details card. With no card on file it reads No card on file.
  3. Choose Add a card. Stripe opens directly on its add-a-card screen.
  4. Enter the card and save. Stripe brings you back to the app.

Replace a card or change billing details

  1. On the Billing page, find Card and billing details.
  2. Choose Manage card and details. Stripe's billing page opens.
  3. Add the new card and make it the default, or remove the old one.
  4. Change the billing name, billing email or tax ID there if you need to.
  5. Return to the app. The new details show on the Billing page.

For a portfolio on the Enterprise plan bought at checkout, the same Manage card and details button is on the portfolio's Settings, Billing page.

What you will see

The Card and billing details card shows:

  • each card with its type, the last four digits and Expires month and year, with Default beside the one used for payments;
  • Billed to: the legal name on invoices;
  • Billing email: where invoices and receipts go;
  • Tax ID, if you added one.

If a payment has failed, a notice sits at the top of this card. It explains whether Stripe is retrying, whether this is the final notice, or whether the workspace has already moved to Free. See What happens when a payment fails?.

Troubleshooting

  • "Couldn't open billing": the Stripe page could not be opened. Try again, and allow pop-ups for analytics.fabrik.ae if your browser blocked the new tab.
  • "Billing details could not be loaded": the card and payment status could not be read, so they are unknown, not empty. Choose Try again.
  • The new card does not show yet: Stripe sends the change to the app shortly after you save it. Refresh the Billing page.
  • No card on file while you pay for a plan: the card says to add one. Add one now so the next payment does not fail.
  • Still stuck? Email support@fabrik.ae. Never send card numbers by email.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fabrik Analytics store my card number?

No. Your card is held by Stripe, our payment provider. The Billing page only shows the card type, the last four digits and the expiry date.

Do I need a card while I am on Free or a trial?

No card is needed while nothing is billed. You can add one before you choose a paid plan, or enter it at checkout.

Will I be warned before my card expires?

Yes. The people who manage billing receive an email about 30 days and again about 7 days before the card on file expires.

How do I change the email address invoices go to?

Choose Manage card and details on the Billing page and change the billing email in Stripe's page. It then shows as Billing email on the Billing page.

I updated my card after a failed payment. Do I need to do anything else?

No. Stripe retries the payment automatically on its schedule with the new card. The warning on the Billing page clears once a payment succeeds.
