Set a person's teams

The nine teams in Fabrik Analytics, what each one owns, and how to say which teams each of your brand's users works in, so actions reach them.

3 min readUpdated 7 October 2026

Every action that Intelligence raises belongs to one of nine teams, for example Paid Media or Buying. Saying which teams each person works in means Intelligence opens on their own actions, and your agency can see who to talk to about each one.

The nine teams

TeamWhat it owns
TradingPace against plan, promotions, pricing and markets
Paid MediaMeta and Google budgets, bids, targeting and spend
CRM & RetentionSend plan, segments, flows and repeat customers
ContentAd creative, email design and site content
MerchandisingWhat is on site and in what order: collections, tiers, pairings and the theme
BuyingIntake, reorder, sizes, markdown and open-to-buy
OperationsShipping, fulfilment, returns and the delivery promise
FinanceMargin, cost lines, fees and cash
DataTracking, pixel, syncs and integrations

Before you start

  • You need permission to manage users at the brand (Client Owners by default), or be agency staff working on the brand.
  • The person must already have access. Teams are set on people, not on invitations.

Set teams for one brand's user

  1. Open your brand and go to Settings, Team. Agency staff open the client's Account, Access.
  2. On the person's row, choose Teams.
  3. Tick every team they work in. Hover over a team's name to see what it owns.
  4. Choose Save teams.

The Teams column now shows their teams. "None yet" means none are set.

Set teams for a portfolio member (agency staff)

  1. Open the portfolio's Account, Access page.
  2. On the member's row, choose Teams.
  3. Tick their teams and choose Save teams.

This sets the same teams at every brand the portfolio gives them, replacing any set on a single brand. If a member's teams differ between brands, the column says Differs by client.

What you will see

  • In Intelligence, Actions, people in at least one team see My teams first: the actions owned by their teams.
  • Your agency sees your people's teams on your brand's access list, so it knows who handles what.

Troubleshooting

"The teams were not saved.": your login is not allowed to change teams at this brand, or the connection dropped. Reload and try again.

There is no Teams button on a row: it only appears on your brand's own users, and only for people who can manage users. Agency staff's teams are read only here.

Frequently asked questions

Do teams change what someone can see?

No. Teams never give or take away access. Access comes from a person's role and the brands they are given. Teams decide which actions Intelligence shows them first.

Can someone be in more than one team?

Yes. Tick every team they work in.

Who can set teams?

Client Owners, or anyone allowed to manage users at the brand, can set teams for their own brand's users. Agency staff can set them for client users on any client they work on. Client Viewers cannot.

Can I set teams for agency staff?

No. Agency staff carry one set of teams for every client, set by their agency on their own record. You see them on your Team page, read only.

Can I add a team of my own?

Not for client users. The nine teams are fixed so that every action in Intelligence has an owner that means the same thing on every brand.

I am in a team but Intelligence shows everything.

Intelligence opens on My teams when you are in at least one team. If a team has no open actions, use the chip to show every team.
