Check your tracking setup
Use Settings, Tracking to check UTM tags on Google Ads, Meta and Klaviyo, finish the four pixel setup steps and confirm events are arriving.

The Tracking tab is where you check that your traffic is tagged properly and that the Fabrik Analytics pixel is collecting. Good tagging is what lets orders be credited to the right ad, email or channel.
Before you start
- Who: agency staff who can open the brand's Settings, or client users who can manage integrations (client owners by default).
- Connected first: Shopify, plus Google Ads, Meta Ads and Klaviyo for their checks. See the articles on connecting your Shopify store and your other platforms.
Open the tab
- Open the brand and choose Settings, Tracking.
The page has four tag checks, the pixel setup, and a note pointing to the post-purchase survey.
The tag checks
| Card | What it checks |
|---|---|
| Google Ads: the final URL suffix | The suffix on the Google Ads account, whether auto-tagging is on, and campaigns with their own suffix or template |
| Meta: each active ad's URL parameters | Whether each active ad carries the UTM parameters Fabrik expects |
| Klaviyo: UTMs on email clicks | Whether email clicks arrive with UTM tags |
| How each is checked | The method and the platforms' own guidance |
Each card shows a status at the top. On Google Ads, select Read from Google to read the account again.
Step by step: set the Google Ads suffix
Only the agency's owner can do this.
- On Google Ads: the final URL suffix, select Read from Google if it has not been read yet.
- Under Set Fabrik's suffix, select Set suffix.
- Check Replaces (the current suffix, or nothing) and With (Fabrik's suffix).
- Select Set the suffix (or Replace the suffix). Google is read again first; if the account changed meanwhile, nothing is changed.
- The change is listed under Changes made here. Select Undo the last change to put the old value back.
Step by step: Meta and Klaviyo
- Meta: copy the parameters under Paste into each ad's URL parameters in Ads Manager and paste them into each ad in Meta Ads Manager. The Each active ad list shows which ads have them.
- Klaviyo: switch on UTM tracking in Klaviyo (Settings, Other, UTM tracking, then Automatically add UTM parameters to links). Recent campaigns shows whether clicks carry them.
Step by step: the pixel
The Tracking Status panel shows how many of four steps are complete and when the last event arrived.
- Step 1, Shopify connected: done once Shopify is connected.
- Step 2, Data Processing Agreement: tick the box to accept the Data Processing Agreement (v1.0) and select Accept DPA.
- Step 3, Shopify Web Pixel: select Register web pixel. If the store needs to approve updated permissions first, open Fabrik Analytics from the store's Shopify admin, where Shopify asks for the approval. Once registered, View in Customer events opens it in Shopify.
- Step 4, Order webhooks: select Activate server-side tracking. Use Re-check to refresh the status.
What you will see
- A green status and "4 of 4 steps complete" when everything is set up.
- Last event with the time, and counts for the last 24 hours from the web pixel and from order webhooks.
- For agency staff, two more panels: High-Value Order Threshold and GDPR data erasure.
Troubleshooting
- "No events received yet": open your store in a browser, view a few products and check again. Events usually appear within minutes once the pixel is registered.
- "Google Ads is not connected for this brand" or "Meta is not connected for this brand": connect it in Settings, Integrations first.
- "Tracking is for the agency's owner, directors and account managers": your agency role cannot see the tag checks.
- The store's authorisation is missing a permission: open Fabrik Analytics from the store's Shopify admin and approve the update Shopify shows, then return to this tab.
- "Event counts failed to load": the 24 hour counts could not be read. The pixel may still be working; check again shortly.
