Set monthly targets
Where to set a brand's monthly targets, who can set them, which metrics you can target, and quick ways to fill a year from a spreadsheet or last year.

Targets let you set what each month should deliver, then track whether the brand is on course. You set them once in the brand's Settings, and they are read by the Targets page, the Dashboard's pace, Trading, reports and Intelligence.
Before you start
- Who can set targets: agency staff on a client their agency manages, and the owner of a brand that runs Fabrik itself. Client users of an agency-managed brand can see targets but not set them.
- Plan: targets are part of Targets and pacing. On a plan without it, the Targets page shows a lock with the plan that includes it.
- Financial year: set when the year starts in Settings, Financial under Financial year starts. The targets grid runs from that month.
- Currency: money targets are in the brand's Reporting currency.
Step by step: set targets
- Open the brand and choose Settings, then Financial. (From the Targets page, the Set targets button opens the same place.)
- In the Targets card, use the arrows beside the year to choose the financial year.
- Under Metric, choose what to target. Metrics are grouped by category, for example sales, marketing and customers.
- Under Enter by, leave Month selected. You can also enter a Quarter, Half year or Year figure: it is split into its months, and you see the monthly targets before they are saved.
- Click a month, type the target and press Enter. Press Escape to cancel.
- Repeat for each month, or use one of the shortcuts below.
- To remove a month's target, choose the bin icon under it.
The Total column adds the months (for a rate it shows the Average).
Shortcuts
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Paste from spreadsheet | Fills the months from a row you copied in a spreadsheet, starting at the first month of the financial year. You can also click the grid and press Ctrl+V. |
| Copy to all | Copies the first month you filled in to every month. |
| Import last year +10% | Copies last year's monthly targets for this metric into this year, each raised by 10%. Rates and ratios are copied as they were. |
Which metrics to target
Any metric in the list can carry a target. The most used are net sales, net sales + shipping, orders, new customers, new customer CPA, total ad spend, blended ROAS and MER %. Some things to know:
- Totals (sales, orders, spend) add up over a quarter or a year.
- Rates and ratios (blended ROAS, MER, AOV, CPA, conversion rate) do not add up. A quarter's target is the average of its months' targets, and the actual is worked out from the quarter's own figures. A 4.00x ROAS target each month is a 4.00x target for the quarter, not 12.00x.
- Lower is better for costs: total ad spend, Meta and Google spend, COGS, transaction fees, discounts, new customer CPA, cost per purchase and MER %. Coming in under these targets counts as on track.
- Net sales and net sales + shipping are different. Set the target on the one your plan is written in.
What you will see
- Targets set for the year lists every metric with a target, its Year (total, or average for a rate) and how many Months set.
- The Targets page (Trading, Targets) picks up a change straight away. Projections that read targets for ad spend refresh within the hour.
Troubleshooting
- "Failed to save target": you may not have permission to set targets for this brand. Ask your agency, or email support@fabrik.ae.
- "No valid numbers found in clipboard": the copied cells held no numbers above zero. Copy only the figures.
- "Clipboard access denied, use Ctrl+V instead": your browser blocked reading the clipboard. Click into the grid and press Ctrl+V.
- "No 2025 targets to import" (with your previous year's name, such as FY 2025/26): there were no targets for this metric in the previous year.
- Some values were skipped: blank cells, text or zero were ignored. Check those months.
